Take a deep breath and listen to your body as you read this:

Pick one part of your life you'd like feel better about - your home, your work, your friendships, physical activity, etc...

When you think about this area of your life, what would you currently rate your satisfaction on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being "extremely fulfilled" and 1 being "extremely unfulfilled?"

Ask yourself:

What do you need to change to make that part of your life perfect?

...

That questions immediately drops me into a pit of despair. "It's so far off!" my brain says. 

The sensation in my body is emptiness in my chest and tightness in my stomach and I get a visual of being in a tunnel with no end in sight.

...

Let's take a different approach. Shake it off (go ahead - physically shake your body!)

Tune in again, perhaps placing a hand on your heart and taking another deep breath. 

Think about that area of life you'd like to feel better about again. Remember the number out of 10 in fulfillment you assigned this area. 

This time ask yourself: 

What would a 1 point increase better look or feel like? 

Our brains like to fix things and imagine the biggest leaps possible, but that can also feel really overwhelming and demoralizing.

I'd like to invite you think choose one small action that looks like that 1 point increase and try it out this week.
